These days we are often exposed to negative stories in the media about motorcyclists.
As a non-motorcyclist myself, I have come to know and respect many motorcyclists and through my association with them, have come to learn about lots of good stuff they do!
It has come as somewhat of a surprise to me, to find out how many good, decent things motorcyclists do for the community.
In particular, the various ‘Fun Runs’ and ‘Charity Rides’ that motorcyclists organise and participate in. Just a few recent ones that I am aware of come to mind - The Ipswich Toy Run, the MRAQ Brisbane Toy Run, and the Autism Awareness Ride.
These rides, which involve hundreds of motorcyclists, are about giving back to the community, in particular to our kids.
What a great way of spreading joy and goodwill, and of demonstrating to the community, the responsible and generous behaviour that is predominantly evident in the majority of motorcyclists.
Good onya, safe riding and Merry Christmas to all!
