In spite of all the good intentions of the researchers, the last paragraph of article says: "Variables involving speed in crashes will also be put under the microscope." And speed is what the bureaucrats will focus in on when the results of this study get published. Because they are not riders.

Speed, speed, speed. Speed cameras. Fixed, mobile, hidden, etc. How about some original ideas other than ass-covering by bureaucrats who want us to ride everywhere at walking pace because we might hurt ourselves? What about the other numerous variables involved in a crash? You can be going Mach 2 and hit nothing, or 30kmh and bash into a brick wall. I know, as a rider, and a human being with a shred of common sense, which scenario is safer.
