About Me

Ipswich Motorcyclist of 35 years. From trailies to Triumphs about 70+ bikes in that time...currently a 1000 V-Strom.. My background is 10 years as an MCTP Instructor with Curley and the rest of a great crew.. 8 yrs as a Commercial Riding Insructor pre-Q-Ride was President of the RiderTrainers Association Qld.for 1 year before I got out of it all... I still ride most of the time but after 30 plus years as an everyday rider I must admit to enjoying the air -conditioned car a couple of times a week. I see some attrocious riding habits and dangerous driving behaviours on the roads everyday..and had a look at MATES site and thought ..I hope it gets really popular and some info can be shared that may save some lives.. A great initiative by the group..well done. The photo is of me in April on a borrowed bike from the "Puyang Oil Fields Motorcycle Club" in Henan China..these guys adopted me like a brother and offered me the use of a multiple of bikes which I proceeded to test.. This is the hometown of my Wife and we visit every 2 years.. we still have a house there..it's a cheap and enjoyable holiday.. Henan is the home of Shaolin Gung Fu (known as Kung Fu here) Martial Arts is another interest of mine...and I got to visit Shaolin Si the home base of it all ,Temples, Monks and training ... Next visit in 2011 we hope to also visit Vietnam ,Cambodia and Thailand as it is really cheap flights from China... I hope to go live there for 1 year in about 2012..English teaching is big dollars over there.
