About Me
I joined MATES in 2007 at the inaugural meeting, with colleagues from Department of Transport, motorcycle groups, motorcycle retailers, motorcycle riders, Emergency Service personnel, motorcycle riders, Support groups and other persons from the community interested in the safety and education of motorcycle riders. I am a police officer with over 33 years experience in most aspects of policing and I have served in most parts of Queensland. In my job I have a passion and commitment for road safety, in particular to reduce road trauma, and this enthusiasm is the reason I actively contribute to and support MATES. By the way, I am not a motorcycle rider and I don't own a motorcycle, my membership to MATES results from my road safety passion. For that reason, my contributions to the MATES website will focus on the motorcycle safety and education (part of MATES - motorcycle, awareness, training, education and safety). MATES is MATES helping MATES.
